Dance Fever

Friday night. Mandi gets off work at 6:00. We leave at 7:00 for Kaysville. We get to Chris and Bruces at 9:30, after one bathroom pit stop. Mandi, Victoria, Sage (Mandi's friend), Susan and Rick. We at least had time to visit for a while in Kaysville. Had a fun stay there and left Saturday morning at 7:30 for Bonneville High School in Ogden for Mandi's dance competition (the first of 3 on consecutive Saturdays).

We got front row seats, which was nice so I could video her dances. The competition was well-run in the morning... they stayed about 2 minutes ahead of the schedule. Mandi's first dance (the blue outfit) went really well. They have a part where a bunch of the girls go out with silver rings and then drop them over themselves. They are like dryer vent hoses... really cool effect. You can check out the dance on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBDvkRJKAPI.

After lunch they got behind schedule and some rude people arrived. We had some friends with us and they were coming in the door and some chump Utahrd momma and her 3 noisy little brats pushed their books and things on the floor and sat down in their seats. We told her it was saved and the people sitting there were coming in and she just pretended not to hear us and stayed there. So we had to cram together and sit on the floor. I wish I had a hot McDonald's coffee to "spill" on her!

Anyway, Mandi's next dance went really awesomely, too. She is in the yellow in the middle at the start, and you can see it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZhkME6P-ZA . Her last one went just as well; it's at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbA7U-V_dE8 .

We left as soon as her last dance was done to rush home so she could get ready and go to prom. Got her home and ready and off and she had a great time. Anyway, quite a busy day.
We found out last night that her dance company (Downtown Dance Company) took first place in each division they competed in, took Judges Choice Award, and won first place Overall (they won the whole enchilada). They had a trophy there that was over 7 feet high, so I guess they have that in their dance studio in Blackfoot now.
Next week we are going down to Draper, Utah for a competition, and the following weekend she's got one in Idaho Falls. If anyone is in one of the neighborhoods and wants to stop in, give us a call!
